I have played all the Madden's over the years. I have had that "same game, updated rosters" feeling. So, I typically take things in stride when the "new" Madden comes out. And I have lowered my expectations as well. This year I have really enjoying playing it. In previous years I've played a good fair share but this year I'm playing it much more. It took me a bit to adjust my setting so they were just right. Now, that I have the game is very competitive. I use gameplan most of the time and find that it is similar style to me as the actual NFL teams play. Just my opinion. Yeah, there are times I do say "tried that play before and it doesn't work": but, for the most part I like the play call. Also, the "hot/cold" is great. It's amazing how your guys will do when they are hot, and it gets way more challenging when they go cold. Its nice you can change teams in the off season again and I have NCAA as well and it's a plus to be able to draft the out going college guys(even though the pictures aren't there actual picture). Overall, I've enjoyed this Madden more then previous years. Great graphics, really like the team entrances, playability(follow your blockers, wait til your receiver makes his cuts, play calling(ex. game play calls WR fade for Calvin Johnson as he is Detroit's goal line back as opposed to Raiders who'll run a HB dive with McFadden at the goal line), updates to offseason. There still is room for improvement. Defenders seem to make miracle INTs sometimes which gets a little frustrating. Also, the commentary is repetitive. There are some great lines, but for the most part its repeat repeat and Collinsworth's "I really admire him as a player" line has got to go. If they continue to tweak that and add more new features Madden will return to what is used to be. Either way truthfully I'll still buy because I love football and it's the only NFL game. Give this game a shot and some time to get used it, adjust your settings to your competitive level and you'll have a lot of fun.
