Deceptively awesome
PostedApril 24, 2011
When I bought my 3DS, I was a little skeptical about howthe system would be able to perform all its advertised functions well. It eased most of my fears off the bat: The 3D looks good, the AR games included are solid, and the systemitself is generally awesome. The slide pad is a nice touch, but some games practically demand theaccuracy of a D-pad, which is hidden off to the side and very awkward to use. There's some very slight lag in some of the AR games, and the launch lineup was disappointing. In addition, due to screen resolution differences, old DS games look horrible by anyone's standards. However, these are small gripes. The graphics by themselves aren't going to blow minds, but they still look very good. However, there aren't any games that absolutely demand being brought for the system immediately, so there's no shame in waiting for Ocaraina 3D or the new Mario game.

Great Job Nintendo
PostedApril 21, 2011
The Nintendo 3DS has completely changed my opinion of Nintendo. Having owned the Wii for a few years I felt the technology and the software that Nintendo was dishing out was not as good as I would've liked it to be. Then, when I first heard news about this I was like "WOW, a new system(sarcasm). I hope this actually has more lasting appeal than the DS." But, when I opened the package I was amazed. The Nintendo 3DS fixed all the problems the DS had and made it a 1000 times better with new hardware and software functions never before seen on a Nintendo handheld. What first caught my eye was the home button. With the Nintendo DS I found it always frustrating that I had to restart the system every time I wanted to switch applications. Now, I don't have that problem. I can always switch applications with a single button and the flick of my wrist. Another thing that caught my eye was the circle pad. It felt great and my thumb did not slip off. All in all, Nintendo created a very innovative system with 3D visuals and great graphics for a handheld. In my opinion the 3DS should not be missed.

3DS best handheld
PostedApril 19, 2011
I sold my psp to save up for the 3ds, I have no regrets. I bought the 3ds for Pokemon, Mario, and Zelda games; I really didn't care about the 3d, I was really skeptical but when I first put the slider up and the 3d started popping out I was amazed on how well it worked. My first game purchased was Pokemon white and my first 3ds game was Super street fighter; I was not excited on the release games. It's exciting to hear Netflix will be coming to th 3ds in the near future, including the web browser. People are complaining that the 3d gives them a headache and its a bad handheld; my advice is it turn off, of course. It depends on the person's eye sight, I have played for about 30 minutes and was fine, then turned it off because of the battery which is a huge problem. Theres batteries that can be purchased to double the battery life but it's ashame that you have to pay an extra $30.
