I thought the Nintendo 3DS was not even a good system at all, but when the price drop came, I thought I should buy one to see how it was. On that day......I was amazing. I love the graphics and I love what the Eshop has to offer, especially there games like "Dillion's Rolling Western". I like how Nintendo didn't make a mini wii or a mini gamecube, they made a Nintendo 3DS. It has it's own experience and it is a great thing to have. I also love the games on the system like Mario Kart 7(which i love to play online), Resident Evil: Revelations, Dead or Alive: Dimensions, Sonic Generations, and etc. I also can't wait for more good games to come out like Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. I wasn't a Nintendo fan until I got this.

Great System for the Price
PostedFebruary 15, 2012
For the price it is now, this is a great system. The 3D really makes it. The effect doesn't bother me when turned up. I've never had problems with headaches and the like anyways. But that's what the sliders for if you have problems with it. If you've ever been to a 3D movie at the theaters, it's pretty much the same just without the glasses.
The battery life doesn't bother me at all. I can only play most games for an hour or so at a time. Besides the charging station (cradle) it came with makes it easy to pop in and keep charged when your not using it.
No, there's not a lot of must have games right now. But, give it a break. It's been out for just slightly over half a year. So far the best games that show off the 3D are Super Mario 3D Land and Pushmo (an e-shop game).
Plus I can watch Netflix on it witch makes it a better choice for traveling than my bulky laptop.
The start and select buttons are my only complaint. Kind of a pain to press at there current location.

An alright system, but I didn't buy it for the 3D.

The Nintendo 3DS is nice idea to the future of gaming. 3D without the annoying paper glasses or glasses of any kind for 3D viewing. I myself do not like nor care for 3D. The few times I tried it, it was too much for my eyes and I find it a distraction from what the game is. I like video games for their own sake, not for little distractions that take away from my gaming experience like the 3D.
As a fan of Nintendo I will continue playing their future games and that is the only reason I purchased my 3DS. If 3DS game cards were usable on the DS I would have just stuck with the DS, but I guess that's what Nintendo has been worried about since there are three other incarnations of the DS. So they decided to at a little square to the game card. This is the first and only DS I have upgraded to or have even considered upgrading to since I got my original DS years ago, which is one of my favorite systems. The line up for the 3DS release was weak. The only games I continued to play was Nintendogs + cats and Bust a Move. I liked Nintendogs + cats and Bust a Move but Bust a Move started loosing it's shine so I turned it in for store credit. In the past few months Nintendo has been releasing the games I have been anticipating since I heard of it's existence so the 3DS is picking up on games. Nintendo could have waited the extra months so it could have a Nintendo game in the line-up. the wait wouldn't have bothered me. It would have made a better first impression.
The battery life isn't very good. I have all the settings on the lowest possible to have maximum battery life but it's only for up to 4 hours in my experience. Why is it that the batteries are never upgraded with technology? It's the same battery from the original DS! I think the Game boy Advance Sp too. Not sure, yet.
I don't really do much else with the 3DS expect for playing new games, that have had a 10$ raise in price. Too much for American pricing if I say so. The Nintendo e shop gets as much of my attention as the Wii shop did. Not much. I already have the original games and systems. If I really want those games, I'll just buy the original on Amazon since I already have the systems for them. I like to have games physically in my hands and not electronic ports. I am tired of ports.
The 3DS is region locked, which as greatly upset me. It's a good thing I kept my original DS because I have quite a few imported region 2 games from Japan. Well, I can't use them on the 3DS. Uh. there is no use for region coding anymore, other than keeping people from buying from other regions than the one they live in.
The Nintendo 3DS has some great games that are finally out but that's all I use the 3DS for in 2D. Just new games, so I can keep up. Nothing more. I would carefully research this system and talk to other friends, gamers, and Gamestop representatives at the store, about it before you go and spent 170$. If you can play it as a preview at the store, if they have it, before you buy. You can take a chance or not, but this system will not please all.
