The system is not $1000. Sony has already announced it being less than $600. It runs off of flash-based memory sticks that have games on them instead of UMDs. It is backwards-compatible with all existing downloadable PSP games.

I am so excited for the new psp. It seems sony has learned from thier previous mistake with the psp go. The price shown for this psp is an overexageration. There is no way Sony would make this 1000 dollars and the ps3 is only 300 dollars. The only diffeerence between the two is this sp will have 3g. other than that i think it will most likely be priced the same or a liitle less as the ps3. Remember the price shown is an estimate made by gamestop and its also an over exageration. Sony is not stupid. Anyways i cant wait to get this and the 3ds.

yes i preordered this monster just because it had all top of the line equipment in it. nintendo 3ds eat your poor resalution heart out.i work for sony and theres talk of $299 price tag.

This looks amazing. It is going to be better than the Go, especially with the new technology, like 3G and the multi touch screen and touch pad. My only problem with it is that their is no UMD. I hope that the downloadable games won't be too expensive though. And I wonder if they will put 3D into it... Also, this might actually stand up to the 3DS, though I wouldn't completely count on that, hahaha.

This new portable console certainly looks amazing. It will certainly be the most powerful portable device at release. I think one big selling feature is the fact that you will be able to play a Vita game on the go, and then continue on the PS3 at home. Plus, you will actually be able to purchase physical media, which will not be read only, meaning you can save your games on the media itself, much like a cartridge. However, the reason I'm going to wait on purchasing this is largely due to Sony's habit of revising their consoles. I'm willing to bet that a later version will be released later, possible after only a year or so, after which will integrate 4G and possibly bluetooth, which would add the capacity for supporting a wireless headset.
