This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers
Battlefield 3 is a must own FPS that grabs all shooter fans attention. Dice worked really hard to make a more realistic feel of war (apart from respawning of course). Battlefield does other traditional shooters don't do and thats allow the player to operate vehicles freely in their own manner and gives them complete simple controls. The game goes into details that others lack such as the ability to change your guns fire rate or even the form of ammo you use (shotguns only). Overall the game gives you a realistic war feel and gives allows you to have a fun time with your friends in your little 4 person squads and is a game that is needed in every game collection.

This game is absolutely the best shooter game ever created. Dice did it again with another amazing battlefield game. The frostbite 2 engine is stunning and the multiplayer never gets old. I would recommend this game to anyone.

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers
BF3 has amazing graphics and sound but the campaign falls short... Literally. I wasn't impressed with the choppy story-line at all, though it was fun while it lasted. Multiplayer saves the game. Maps are enormous and the COD style of leveling up and gameplay make it very in depth and addicting. Although, to really enjoy the multiplayer you at least have to be a decently skilled gamer. The vehicles such as choppers, jets, and jeeps also set it apart from the COD series. Overall, if you enjoy online gaming this is the game to have.

Ill explain each rating separately. As an avid battlefield lover..i feel let down.
Gameplay:
Campaign: The single player campaign has a nice touch in the way that they presented the story and that's about all that's good about it. it's predictable, not very exciting, very short, and leaves you wanting much more.
Multiplayer:
Good: The squads are a appealing and the newly added prone adds a new dimension of gameplay. Weapon upgrades and customizations are what they are to be expected. Leveling up takes far longer than it's predecessor which is a good thing. They also added a whole new array of weapons and various ways to unlock these weapons. Bullets are affected by gravity so long range shots have to be precise and those ticks in your sniper scope finally are worthy of being there.
Bad: Sound cuts off....really. You throw a grenade hear the boom, then everything goes silent, you fire your gun and don't hear it, you don't hear battlecrys and tanks rolling by. It's a glitch that has yet to be fixed. There is a tremendous amount of lag, out of 5 games i lose connection to 2-3, and its NOT an issue with my connection, directly wired Xbox 360 and an internet connection of 15down 5Up by Verizon Fios. I've also set the routers Q.O.S .(Quality of Service) to prioritize any and all Xbox activity. None of this worked, EA servers are simply...bad. I would prefer that they release the server files and allow players to create their own servers similar to Steams' TF2 or Left 4 Dead.

The multiplayer is split between normal multiplayer and co-op missions. The co-op missions are very buggy. Ive had to retry most over and over because they game did not recognized when my teammate and I had finished off everyone in the room and had gone to the designated door which would not respond to being opened. Of course the normal multiplayer (above) is great!...when it works right.

Overall the game is absolutely brilliant! But I have a feeling that DICE focuses more on PS3 and PC more than they do us Xbox gamers. For example: the graphics have been improving for both PS3 and PC but Xbox xbox looks exactly the same since the game came out; Weapons and Vehicle for both PS3 and PC have been updated but not Xbox. I just think DICE needs to have a bit more focus on Xbox.

This game is freaking amazing. Everything from the destructible walls to flying a jet and blowing up tanks, (as well as driving them) this game deserves a GOTY award for at least the multiplayer.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers
I bought MW3 when it came out and played it for one day before trading it back in for Skyrim, because there is no camparison to BF3 and I knew I would never play MW3 multiplayer after trying BF3. Their strategy to release this game earlier than MW3 was certainly a good one for this reason (even if buggier than I would like at release, but the updates have been coming). BF3 is a great multiplayer online game. If the campaign mode is what you like, maybe MW3 is your choice, but if you want to be immersed into a Battlefield, I urge you to put on the surround sound headphones and go there via this game. Great fun and action. The squad based teamwork online with other gamers can be addictive! Go arm that M-COM soldier~!!! lol or cap that flag! hut hut hut!!!!!!!

When I first got BF3 I was amazed of the graphics it had on the campaign also the story line was good along with the weapons you get, but after I bet the campaign which I wished it was a longer I moved to BF3 online I liked it at first but when I played it more it basically got boring to me. I think they were trying to balance the game online but I did not think it was not balanced enough. Also if your going to playing campaign on the game you may run into like 4-5 bugs.

i bought the game but was unaware that you must have an online pass to play online. The new one comes with one but the pre-owned does not. so you have to shell out an extra 10 bucks to play online, so you might as well just buy new.

This is a really enjoyable game. It never gets old and I don't think it never will. There is so much to do with it. You got Campaign, Co-op Online and with a friend locally, you got multiplayer with 75 weapons, several vehicles (tanks, jeeps, helicopters, jets). There is actual bullet drop in the game which makes sniping loads of fun on multiplayer and in the campaign. It gives you more of a challenge than regular games would. This game is amazing, everytime you play something different happens... from building debris crashing on you, bullets flying by, mortar strikes, being shot at by a jet... Is it real or is it battlefield 3? This game is just amazing!
