This game is perfect for: casual gamers
This game really is great. I would've put 8.5 if I could've though. Only because the story is kind of short and not that deep. But the levels are so fun, and have plenty of replay value. There are little extras to collect and such, of course. But I would replay them purely for the scenery and gameplay overall, Sega really got it right with this one. They spared no details when designing the levels.. everything is beautiful in the game. And the music is amazing as well. This is an excellent game for all Sonic fans. I'm a long time Sonic fan so this game really brought me back, had me saying wow, and was quite nostalgic. Now, I just hope Sega can top this.. something that can rival Sonic Adventure 2's epic story.

This game is exciting!

I've been looking at this game for a while, and after seeing the trailers and demos, and playing the cheap one-level PS3 demo, I can honestly say I'm SUPER excited about this game. I like the way they're bringing back the older levels with a new spin on them. Not only does the gameplay look amazing, the music sounds awesome. I'm pre-ordering this baby NOW.

I played a level of this 4 the 360(better than ps3) at the Caselton square mall (Indiana) as the new sonic, and loved it. Fun mechanics. Really cool, cant wait for super sonic skin, whutevr that is.

Best sonic Game since Adventure 2?

I just cant wait for it, It looks Beautiful, Amazing and all the way EPIC, I have already Pre-ordered for 360 and 3DS and I cant believe they brought back the classic Versions, I am just so Excited, I've been a Sonic fan since I was 5 and I just completely flipped out after seeing this, oh and If some of you are probably wondering Why its not being made for wii is because The Wii is growing old and The Wii U is on the Way, so nintendo is busy working on the new system and updates for the 3DS to bother much for 3rd Party games for the Wii, also because its in 3rd place behind 360 and PS3, so they think Players are losing interest in their console, so they are making the best of their games to end the Wii's long lasting apparel since it first came out, for example- Skyward Sword or Return to DreamLand will most likely be the last games for the wii so far. sorry if players dont understand oh and if your thinking "they why are they making it for 3DS?" well one is because it will look freaking amazing in 3D and two Sonic Team Promised this Version will have different levels then the console versions.

this game can be the one sonic game that could bring sonic back to greatness. over the years the games have got worse but then i started to see a slow improvement in every game after sonic the hedgehog for xbox 360 and ps3. sonic unleashed started that large improvement, colors was a huge improvement. now this game could be the one to bring sonic back to greatness it once had with adventure 2, cant wail for November 1st!!!

just think about it has everything you need, good graphics, awesome music, great gameplay, epic storyline, and best of all SONIC!!!!!!!
I think the whole reason SEGA made this game was so us fans would stop whining about wanting classic sonic to come back(I happen to like modern sonic)
but seriously, you need to stop whinig Sonic GOT OLDER you cant reverse that.
the only reason mario didnt get older was cus he was already in llike what his 30-40's so get over it already.
P.S. The new green hill zone looks epic

A game that all sonic fans can enjoy. The fans that like classic sonic and the fans that like modern sonic. Personally modern sonic is getting to weird for me. He's put in silly costumes, meets a time traveling psychic hedgehog, falls in love with a human, and no more spin dash. The best modern sonic games were the adventure series and sonic heroes. But thanks sega for returning the classic sonic that we know and love.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers
Finally after all these years Sonic Team is starting to do some good. This game is great because it combines some of the great classic levels from earlier Sonic games that we all know and love and combine them with great graphics for one heck of a ride. In this game you can switch between two different Sonic's - Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic. In the classic Sonic levels its just like they used to be just going straight ahead with a roller coaster like feel. In the modern Sonic levels it appears to be even more 3D and you aren't just going straight. This is a nice balance of Classic and Modern Sonic games with wonderful graphics and gameplay. Though doing this same thing over and over can get old but this is still a great addition to any Sonic fans gaming library.

I love this game, the graphics are great, the gameplay is solid, and best of all the music is AMAZING!! This game has stages that most if not all true Sonic fans will remember. It brings back old favorites such as Green Hill Zone, Chemical Plant Zone, City Escape and more, the bosses and rivals in this game are just as fun and some of them offer a new twist on an old fight. All in all if your a Sonic fan new or old buy this game it really is great.
