Personally,I think this will be the best sonic game in all of history. Surprisingly,the console version comes out before the handheld.which is sorta sad but,hey if we rush them,it'll be 06 all over again (even though i'm protecting it for no good reason).But,i'm glad the 3DS one is coming out later so I have something to look forward to (again).Plus I got sonic colors ds 6 weeks after the wii version so i'm good.Point is,this is anticipation like no other (besides 3d land).

Just finished the game and all I can say is I enjoyed every second of it. The game was amazing. The nostalgia factor is through the roof. Even though the levels are based on prior sonic games the levels are fresh and very fun to play. This game has a lot of replay value. If you have doubts, FORGET THEM. This game is Amazing. If you've never played a sonic game and are interested, don't hesitate, GET THIS GAME.

This game is perfect for: kid gamers
Overall, I like this game, the game looks gorgeous, I like the Act 2 Stages, the music and sound is awesome. The only problem I have with this game is that the story is extremely underplayed. Also some parts in the game can give you badly slowdowns (Choppy Framerate.) This is only a nit pick, but I think that the stages are extremely short, and easy too beat. Overall, this game is very solid, also its very re-playable. I recommend this game too any Sonic the Hedgehog fan.

This game is really awesome! The gameplay is epic first of all, you play as oldschool Sonic and then as the new Sonic, as well as other characters. It has all the old levels from Sonic 1,2, CD etc. It's great!
Now, the music is simply amazing! Great remixes of old favorites and new original music. I want to buy the Soundtrack it's so good! The graphics are beautiful and are brightly colored and in full HD. Props to SEGA!
BUY IT. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers
This has to be without a doubt the greatest sonic game ever made. Playing as both classic and modern sonic is a thrill i can't describe for a true sonic fan. seeing modern sonic in remade green hill and chemical plant zone make you want to take the course slow just to soak in the awesomeness. And seeing classic sonic in new age stages from sonic unleashed and sonic heroes is just the icing on the cake. The boss battles are fun and the mechanics and well thought out. and if your like me and beat a boss really fast theirs are hard mode on each one to really test your skill. The game is filled with extra challenges and bonuses to find in them. This keeps you from just soaring through the game and beating it in a day. I recommend this game to anyone who wants to play a great game that could be Sonic's best one yet

This game is perfect for: casual gamers
Just like the title says, this is the best game since Sonic Adventure. They finally worked out most of those control issues they had on the original Sonic the Hedgehog game on the xbox. I have always been a sonic fan but has pretty much given up on the series until recently. The game plays well and the cut away scenes are pretty cool. Thank you Sega for finally getting it right for a change.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers
I cant say im a hardcore sonic fan(referring to those that played it on Sega) but i did play a little of those games before. I can easily see that this game would appeal more to those long time gamers but even to me, it is a real amazing game. it's easy to play with maps I remember with the twist of playing it as Classic and Modern Sonic. I definitely recommend this game.

I feel bad right now

I don't enjoy saying this, but I think Sonic should be done. Trust me, I love Sonic, I love him so much and I will never sell some of his earlier titles because he was so amazing in those games, but either Sonic needs some real time to become better than what he was before and not just a series that is constantly made with nothing new and a money stealer for SEGA. I don't want Sonic to be done, but I feel that Sonic's name is being slowly dishonored with some of his latest games, Sonic Colors wasn't too bad but Sonic needs to take at least a break and come back real strong or have one big finale game. Either way, Sonic games shouldn't just be continuely released, but should actually be put to their fullest potential.

Sega really made this game look good. i have been a sonic fan ever since the first game came out and i believe that this might be the best sonic game so far. I already finished pre-ordering the game at my local gamestop and i constantly play the sonic generations demo. i can't wait to pick up my copy of the game and the DLC's that come with the pre-order in November

This game is going to be worth it. I played the demo and this is the kind of game that fans have been waiting for. Play with the old school Sonic and play the new Sonic? omg that just seems awesome. The best part is that they kept the look of old sonic just the way he was made is still there but just in 3D. This is going to be the best sonic game ever

This game is perfect for: kid gamers
Although it might already seem obvious, no, I am not a Sonic the Hedgehog nut. So it is easier for me to point out obvious flaws in the game. Firstly the level desing, although it is better than the 3DS version, it STILL suffers from bland, and repetitive level desing. The level desing for both sonics hardly ever challenges you since you just have to hold left, throughout all the stages (up for modern Sonic.) Which makes the game feel extremely repetitive. The 2D platforming sections for both Sonics is just sloppy. I wonder why SEGA insists on always stacking a bunch of platforms that are easy to fall off of because of Sonics floaty, unresponsive jumping. The boss battles are all reincarnations of the previous one. They are mostly ALL races for crying out loud! The hub world is bland, and uninspired. It's not Sonic 2006 horrendous, but it sure is an overrated platformer. I saw the fans saying "It iz tHa bess gAme evar maDe!!!". But I have learned my lesson, never believe the covered-in-whool fans. Sonic Gen never even managed to get above an 80 on Metacritic! There are much better games out this holiday that you would be a fool to buy this over the other games I suggested below.

The idea of returning to the nostalgic classics is going to be a thrill for most Sonic fans, I believe. Because I can't WAIT for Classic Sonic to return! I heard some music OSTs on the Internet and it sounds pretty cool. Even better, it comes out this week! I'm going to get it as soon as it's in stores. Happy 20th birthday, Sonic!
