Now i have always had hope for the blue blur, years and years of failures have taken storm with basically FAIL sonic games. Now i will start off by saying that my first ever sonic game was Sonic Heroes which was a very fun, and challenging game. I will also say this... THIS IS THE BEST SONIC GAME I HAVE PLAYED SINCE...EVER! I will cover the basics
Story: The story starts off with all of your friends (by your "friends" i mean sonics friends) about to throw a birthday party for sonic, than a big monster comes and sucks up sonic and all his friends, freezes them in different stages, and its up to you from there to team up with classic Sonic and save all of them and go back to reality. Now it sounds more better if you just play it, or watch a walkthrough of it, the story isnt all that special but still its ok.
Gameplay: The gameplay is very enjoying, fast passed, and very challenging at times, i still cant decide if modern sonic is better than classic sonic but ill just say i love both of them they make a FANTASTIC team, the controls for Modern SONIC have been tweaked MUCH better than they were in Sonic Unleashed which had awkward, terrible, controls, and most of all the terrible were hog -__- (uggghh never going to go back to that again) in generations they feel much more better, and what the buttons do in this game are much more confortable than they were in unleashed. No complaints about Modern SONIC'S controls. For Classic SONIC the controls feel perfect, and simple! one button is to spin dash, the other is jump, thats it. No complaints about Classic SONIC'S controls
Sound: the music was really good, its all remixs of older sonic songs a very good touch to Generations.
Length : from what ive heard its about 6 or so hours otherwise very short, but still (im very close to the ending and i got the game yesterday -__-)
Conclusion: although it is a very short sonic game i still love it and it was worth the money i spent, i am loving every minute of it, in the near future i hope they release some DLC for this game like some new stages i will be one of the first people to buy it. also sega should make another sonic game using modern sonic and classic sonic again but not over using them maybe in 1 more game. buy it, it is very good and ull love every minute of it, and if they do add DLC that offers more stages than it is a must have. Whether you are a sonic fan, or just want a fun game to play than i have to highly recomend this. now if you excuse me.... time to get the platinum trophy. PRESS [ ] TO BOOST, ......GO

Giving 10/10 to every aspect of this game makes me look like a fanboy, right? Well, that's only partially because I am, but I really do believe this is the best Sonic game since the '90s, and if you're a fan of platformers, and haven't been digging Sonic's direction in recent years (understandably), this game might sway you. Firstly, this game is absolutely gorgeous, especially if the color on your TV is cranked pretty high. The best looking levels are probably Green Hill and Planet Wisp, which kind of sucks, since Green Hill is the first level of the game, and Planet Wisp is probably the least fun to actually play. In terms of gameplay, Classic Sonic's control isn't exactly like the classics, but it still feels alright, unlike Sonic 4. Modern Sonic doesn't control quite as well as you'd probably like, but the level design is what really sticks out in this game. There are several different ways to get to the end of the level, so it's not like Mario, where if you've beaten the level, you've already seen everything you could possibly ever see in the level. The way you get to the goal is able to vary, and there are some hidden little goodies scattered about to reward your curiosity. The boss fights are exciting, and the Egg Dragoon fight is actually much harder and more fun than the final boss. The soundtrack is absolutely amazing, especially tracks like City Escape and Rooftop Run, both Classic and Modern. Look them up on YouTube, they're great songs. However, there are some negative things to say about the game. There is actually a bad level: Classic Planet Wisp. It's the only level in the entire game that has a bad music track, too, and the level itself is pretty long, which doesn't help at all. The second thing is that the final boss is pretty lame, but thankfully it's relatively quick. The story in general is pretty underwhelming, too, and the cutscenes make me cringe sometimes with how unfunny they are. But, in all honesty, you aren't playing Sonic for an engrossing, Final Fantasy narrative, so it's really not that big of a deal at all. So yeah, Sonic Generations: they finally got it right.

Sonic Generators is a nod to the heyday of Sonic games past. It attempts to incorporate the best of the Sonic franchise into a single game, the big question is, does it work? The answer is: almost.
The game starts off strong, throwing you in to a remastered, HD version of the classic Green Hills Zone any Sonic fan has grown to love. The remastered music is a really nice touch and almost all at once you start feeling like this is the franchise you've grown up with.
Each stage has multiple stages broken up into "classic" Sonic stages and "modern" Sonic stages. At first the modern Sonic stages aren't so bad, they help emphasize to the concept of speed in the Sonic games. Soon enough though the modern stages end up broken, attempting to add all sorts of platformer elements to a stage that should have been more about solid speed and racing. The modern stages don't work as well as they could and they simply feel frustrating at time.
The controls are mushy at best, while there is a definite sense of speed and nostalgia to the game, it suffers from controller delays. I expecrt Sonic to jump when I tell him and the reality is, he jumps several miliseconds after I tell him to, which is a huge draw back, forcing you to anticipate when you might have to jump instead of simply jumping when you need to. This isn't the fault of my TV or the Playstation 3 as many of my other games respond just fine without such a delay.
The music is a fantastic remix of the classic Sonic music and it does a great job at doing it.
The graphics are wonderfully reminiscent of the classic franchise, while painfually reminding you with their shallow character of what the franchise has become. If you have a 3D capable TV, they do a fantastic job on the 3D aspect of the game and while not advertised, many of the cut scenes are also done in 3D.
All in all, it's one of the better games the Sonic franchise has had in a long time, I think if they would have simply concentraited on the classic franchise instead of both, it would have been a lot better, the classic elements are what fans have been craving for a decade and unfortunately they ruin it with the modern elements. I would have rather have had a remastered 3D compilation of the classic Sonic games then a entirely new game that reminds me (and all other games) of what the franchise used to be.
