Not a lot of people know about this game, but I have been anticipating it for some time. I can't believe it has taken this long to come out with a guitar game that actually teaches you how to play. Companies should take this as an example that you can make profitable interactive learning games that are enjoyable.

great game, but be ready to get sore

i have only played for about 4 hours but i am going to be playing for months. the only thing is you need to prepare to play it or you will get sore fingers, arms, and shoulders. the learning part of the game is great i have learned more in 4 hours than i have in 3 years. also i have a reason to use the guitar thats been in the corner of my room. i would recommend this to anyone trying to learn to play and anyone that likes to play. so far i havent seen any problems with gameplay and it responds welll. great game overall.

Better Than Expected

For a Guitar Hero and Rock Band enthusiast like myself when I saw the game first back a year or so ago I was a bit skeptical. As the game started to develop and I saw game play and the way they had notes it was way different from Rock Band 3's Pro mode and didn't think it was a great method, until I bought it and booted it up.
Was I astonished! Ubisoft did an excellent job for this game. Not only is the intro awesome but the fact of using your real guitar as a controller is just fantastic. The note chart is very easy to understand and uses a cool method of unlocking guitar sounds, venues, and Techniques in order to help you get through the game. It's in-game switch difficulty is great since you don't have to be stuck playing one note all the time. It gradually adds more notes and continues until you've got it down.
There's almost no lag for me despite what I've heard (and yes I use HDMI cable) the guitar picks up everynote perfectly. The only trouble I have is with palm mutes and that might be because I'm doing it wrong or I don't strum hard enough.
Overall, this game is a great step up from Rock Band 3's Pro Mode. They take it to the next level using your real guitar and there's even Multiplayer which I'm just dying to try!
I highly recommend this game to those who want to learn real guitar and have a bit of a sense of it as well. Awesome game!

So I play guitar, and I know that it teaches you songs by playing notes, is their any chords incorporated into this game for more advanced players? Just curious because I would really like to buy this game if there is!!

This is not a game for guitar hero posers. This game will help you learn real guitar skills.
I have been playing electric guitar for years and this game is already helping me improve my chops. Rocksmith adds fun to your practicing rituals and if you stick to it you can learn 50 new rock songs while your at it.
