Simply Amazing

Rocksmith is not only a game that teaches you how to play guitar, but it also helps develop your technique and fine tune it. Words cannot describe the amount of awesome it feels to be playing a guitar, having to move on the fret board, following up the satisfaction of playing actual power cords, cords, and various picking styles. The only thing I have a small problem with is when you go to the actual "event" and no longer rehearsing the crowd is generic and repeated. Granted this makes for funny commentary, but something could've been done to expand that. I have been playing in a band for about 3 years now, and mostly play bass; with that being said, it is possible to play your bass as a "6" string but expect to wear out your tv/surround sound speakers and be using your 12th fret as an open string haha! You will most likely burn the speaks out due to the amount of low end power your bass will put out when the "amp" of the game is set up for guitar. At the time I was too excited to really care, so lesson learned there. The best thing I love about this game is the learning experience you have. I can say this game has not only improved my guitar playing but my bass technique as well, a must have for all musicians and gamers that love to rock!!

My Review: I had no experience playing the guitar before buying rocksmith, but I did own one. I bought this game and within days I've learned a lot. (compared to how long it would normally take) I can play a couple riffs, getting used to the feel of the guitar, and pretty much overall really improved in barely any time. The feeling of improvement is like no other, you just feel so good about yourself when you watch how you are actually hitting notes and getting better at it. Overall, if you want to learn to play the guitar, then get this game now. As a game, it's not perfect, it isn't like rockband or guitar hero, but it's not meant to be a game strictly for fun, it's supposed to be a teaching tool while having a fun aspect at the same time, and I think it really does that well. And the amp mode, amazing. :P
Friend's review: (been playing the guitar for 3, almost 4 years) He came to my house, played it, and is getting himself a copy asap. He believes it can really help you improve and become better in no time at all. He said at the pace I'm going, I can get his 3 year experience in only 6 months, which is really a huge difference. He is surely impressed, and of course, loves amp mode. ;)

So you want to learn guitar
PostedDecember 10, 2011
I have had my guitar for a few years now. Mostly it just gathered dust. I used to just get frustrated when trying to learn new songs either cause it didn't sound quite right, or I couldn't figure out how to make that sound. Picking up this game changed that. I have found myself playing for hours on end trying to master a song, playing mini games to learn new techniques, and finally learning how to play chords. The way it levels up songs as you get better is also great. It starts off slow and works up and up until all of a sudden you're playing the song like you hear it on the track. Another bonus is you don't have to buy all the pedals and other toys the real guitarists use cause the game uses them for you. One downside, is the graphics. Unlike Rockband and Guitar Hero, it's a very simple background throughout. I don't think of this as a major fault however cause you really don't see it verry often on new songs as you're looking for which note to play next. If you want to learn to play guitar, this is your ticket.

Amazing game and tool.

I bought this game 3 days ago in hopes that it would help me learn basic guitar skills. I have had three amazing hand made guitars sitting around my house for over a year and this game has made those go from space savers to instruments. I had no guitar experience other than fooling around before picking this up, but after 3 days on Rocksmith I have picked up basic skills and feel a lot more comfortable on the fretboard. It makes learning easy because instead of that the lesson feeling teachers give you, with rocksmith you feel like your playing a video game like guitar hero but in reality your learning,
