Approach with caution
PostedFebruary 27, 2012
My review buzz score is being docked a few points due to the From Ashes Day 1 DLC, as well as the RPG elements of the game. The RPG systems look far lighter than the past games, and from what I've seen, some aspects are gone. Lockpicking for one; you just press a button and wait for the locked door or object to open. As for the From Ashes DLC, those of you who buy this version will get it for free, even if it is not listed here. However, if you buy the Regular edition, you won't and will have to pay $10 for it at launch. It may not sound bad in theory, but here's the thing. Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age: Origins rewarded you with free DLC if you bought new, and still do. With this, you get an Online Pass with nothing on it and you must pay $10-$20 more to get the DLC at launch. What's more, the DLC contains a Prothean team member. A huge part of Mass Effect lore. Think about that before you decide to buy this game. You are being left out of piece of lore important content, completed before release, unless you pay at least $10 more for this game.

Ok look, the prothean is a large part of mass effect lore true but, being as they were supposed to be extinct, if you didnt have him/her you wouldnt be missing any plot developing content. with that said of course im going to get the collectors edition. If you care that much for the lore then why wouldnt you splurge a little and get the el macho edition? people new to the series who get the regular edition wont care about the extra dude, and when they do they wont mind shelling out a little to get him. I rest my case in the fact that both your comment and mine are just opinions and people will decide what they like or dont like based on their own opinions, we are just giving advice

Don't down review the game because of gameplay elements you haven't gotten to fully experience. That's just silly. I do have to agree with you on the DLC front, edition and distributor specific DLC is ridiculous and makes everyone lose. But please don't go rating games less then they deserve when none of us (you or I) have any idea what it will deserve after launch. I feel the same way about all the 10s, despite my love for mass effect. This feature of the website should be locked until after the game is launched officially.

I have played games for a long time... I've played RPG's, FPS's, Action, Sports, Platformers, etc... To me, Mass Effect is by far the best gaming series I ever played... From the opening introduction of the first Mass Effect, they just pulled me in and have never let go... I've never played any game, that mixes action, with story so well, while getting you involved by letting you choose the most important decisions, with a character of your creation... Add on that this character and decisions carries from game to game and I can't see how any video game past or present surpasses this game... Other developers need to take notice... Only a little over a week away now... I plan on turning the cell phone off, and I will be off the grid for a couple days when this comes out lol

Bioware, I Love You
PostedFebruary 23, 2012
Being a gamer for quite some time, Bioware's Mass Effect Series is by far my most absolute favorite, even though I was a late bloomer when this series was first debuted, it didn't take long for me to fall in love. Their graphics are outstanding from the first to the upcoming third, gameplay is addicting, simple, interactive and outstanding. I really don't even have to state the replayability for those who are familiar with the game. The thing I like most about Bioware, is that most developers who create a series, seem to get lazy as their franchise progresses, but Bioware has given their best efforts and products to their fans and I can see nothing lacking in this upcoming part 3. For those who never played Mass Effect, you're missing out, and all I have to say is you better start! (*Should definitely get the first two parts as well!)

Game will rock, Kinect compatibility is a ploy
PostedFebruary 23, 2012
As I played the demo I knew this game is gonna be awesome, should be a great conclusion to the series but I dont think I need to tell anyone that. The one thing I do want to say is the kinect function is just a silly ploy to get more people to buy kinect, the way the kinect is used here is not revolutionary I mean come on we could have used a headset to do this in the previous two games the only difference now is that it is gonna look like im yelling at my TV, anyway neat feature but nothing ground breaking for the kinect I want a good game with motion based controls not what we have been givin so far.
