Sega Don't Mess This Up!

I'm a huge fan of Sonic, one of the few who actually prefers the modern titles over the classics, and I can see this game being good or bad. So far, I'm unimpressed by this version of the game. I feel that Modern Sonic's gameplay should be full 3D to show off the system's capabilities. I've seen some impressive screen shots of full 3D special stages for Modern Sonic, which clearly demonstrate that the 3DS is capable of handling a 3D Sonic game. This version better exceed my expectations because, as it currently stands, this version looks like a quick tack on to the title. I may give it a shot when it comes out.

This game is just as great as its console counterpart,but different stages and more to remember. The only gameplay difference it plays like Sonic Rush and Sonic Colors for the Nintendo DS.

This game is perfect for: kid gamers
I got this game the other day, and I started playing around 3:00. I beat the last boss right around 7:30, so I beat the game in about 4-4.5 hours. Way too short. I liked the gameplay, but there really wasn't a story behind it. The cutscenes give limited information about the story, and it is too quick. I also liked the special stages, but that's pretty much it, besides the music. This game should have had more levels, and more voice acting. If you really want to play Sonic Generations and don't have a Xbox 360 or PS3, then get the PC version, which is the same as the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.

This game looks totally amazing. I have to say I wish that they would add the 3D Modern Sonic like they did in the PS3 and X360 versions. I mean if the 3DS can handle 3D games like Super Mario 3D Land, Luigi's Mansion 2, Mario Kart 7, Kid Icarus: Uprising, PilotWings: Resort, and Ocarina of Time 3D than it should be able to support the Modern Sonic levels and thats all thanks to the developers that previously made the Sonic Rush and Advance series and the DS version of Colors: Dimps. But either way this game looks cool and I will be getting it on the day it comes out. Can't Wait

This game is perfect for: casual gamers
Sonic Generations is a great game playing levels from over 20 years of Sonic's history and being able to play as both classic and modern sonic in levels with brought back music and remixes of it. But this game is too short for $40. It would have been nice if they brought back a lot more levels for this game espically considering that its sonics 20th anniversery. Other than that the story is kind of dull (Spoiler alert: featuring both Eggmans trying to destroy sonic and use a creature called the Time Eater to destroy them and in the end the Eggmen lol miserably fail once again.

This game is perfect for: kid gamers
The game has beautiful graphics when played in 3D, but can look somewhat dated at times. The music is usually pretty good, but a few songs are very bad, or taken straight from a previous game with no adjustments. The gameplay wasn't too bad, and nearly identical to that of the Sonic Rush series. I was disappointed that a few of the classic stages were taken straight from the original games with little to no changes, and Classic Sonic felt too slow, not in comparison to Modern Sonic, but in comparison to older games and the console versions of Sonic Generations. Seriously, it's like controlling a rock. The homing attack for Classic Sonic also was very unnecessary, considering they could've continued having you jump on enemies to reach high places instead of using homing attack on them. The game is also very short, and I beat it the same day I got it. The game tries to add replay value by adding in one hundred missions for you to complete, but these missions cost a whopping five play coins each. So despite how easy they are, it's going to take you a long time to complete them all. Your reward for completing missions is artwork, character models and music from throughout the Sonic series, which isn't particularly exciting. Even with missions and extra unlockables, the game still feels very short and not worth the price. It's not necessarily a bad game, but you're better off waiting for a price drop.

I bought this game for 40 bucks and it was awesome at first, but I almost immediately got stuck on the second level. I am a sonic fan but I am not exactly that good at the games. I eventually passed the whole game with a little help from my brother. The final boss is pretty hard but if i can beat it you can. It is pretty cool cause modern and classic sonic both turn into super sonic and fight the time eater. The graphics are ok but the color is great and the music is good too. I recommend this game to anyone who is good at these types of games and like sonic.

good game

It's a good game, I like the online (If only it weren't so dang laggy)
I don't know why everybody says it's so short you guys must not be playing the missions mode (under versus battle in the main menu)
Certainly the best Sonic game I've played It would have been better in 3D instead of side scroller. 3D effects on 3DS are nice though.
