it works for girls

i really wanted to get this but i was a little worried because 1 of the reviews said that it had a hard time picking up girl voice but it doesnt. it works just fine for me and fits comfortably. it also came with adjustable ear buds and i thought that was fantastic because i have small ears and a normal size is to big. so i highly recommend this if you dont like it you always have 7 days to return it but once you try it you wont want to return it

not for bigger gamers

Apparently other people are having issues, but I was so excited to get this. I thought it'd be awesome, it'd work great, and be a heck of a lot better than the boom mic thing I have now.
Unfortunately, when I opened it up and thought to try out the sound by sending my friend a message, it sounded like I was chewing on it and when I said "can you hear me, hello" it sounded like "Mmabaaabmmm mmmmmllooo". I tested it at different places on my throat and they all ended up being relatively the same. However, I thought maybe it was because of the size of my neck that made the difference, so I held the mic part out in front of the middle of my throat and it recorded crystal clear. So in order for me to make use of this mic, I have to somehow hold it out in front of me while still having two hands to play Gears of War with? Okay, cool.
I am so disappointed. The issue here is that the amount that it adjusts to accommodate neck sizes is about half an inch, which in reality is nothing. Had it been able to adjust more, I would probably be able to better utilize this microphone contraption. I will try to make it work tonight before ultimately returning it tomorrow and letting them know not to recommend this to bigger people such as myself.

I found a solution to the problem. The mic works perfect if you put your fingers between your throat and the band for the mic. What I did was, bought some superglue, double sided tape, and earplugs (not for swimming). I superglued two earplugs together, then using the doublesided tape (for now), attached the earplugs to either side right next to the mics on either side at the end of the band in front of my neck. Doing this gives the mics some breathing room, allowing it to hear what I am saying, and being able to deliver audible and ungarbled words to XBL. It works great. It's just unfortunate that I have to do this to make it work.

Very Disappointing!
PostedSeptember 17, 2011
I was very excited to get this mic, but what a disappointment! The sound in the earpiece is great, but no one could understand me when I spoke. I recorded it on Xbox Live and it sounded worse than a drive-thru speaker! The sound is muffled and jumbled, there is no making out what is said. Very bummed with this product, spent over thirty dollars with shipping for something that I can not use.

Not good for me

I might just have a bigger neck (just measured 17 inches) than they designed it for, but I didnt like mine. The "adjustable" part of it only extends it about 1cm on each side. Fully extended, it had the nubs for the reciever just forward of that neck muscle that goes from sternum to back of skull diagonally. After a few minutes, it started feeling uncomfortable like it was messing up blood-flow, it even came with a warning to stop if you start feeling dizzy.____ As for the microphone quality, right when i spoke with it on, my friend had to ask to make sure it was me, then said it sounded like garbage. I recorded myself with it, and it sounded kind of static-ey, and the ear piece blocks off alot of sound for that ear. I say don't get it unless you have a skinny neck and (based off what people said about the last throat mic), a middle/low ranged voice. At least gamestop has a good return policy for accessories. It was a cool idea, but needs more work.
