A Game of Thrones - Genesis

What King will you be? Conqueror, Usurper or Diplomat?"A Game of Thrones - Genesis" immerses you into the heart of the battles and intrigues between the Houses that shaped the Kingdom of Westeros. From Nymeria's arrival in the Kingdom of Dorne to the awakening of the "Others" beyond the Wall, you'll live the origins of A Game of Thrones saga through more than 1000 years of history, by taking part in Westeros' founding events and largest battles. In this great strategy game, victory does not necessarily result from brute force. You can choose to use a military approach and besiege your opponents, strangle them in an economical war, or even use dirty tricks and diplomacy to politically crush them. Treachery and deception are everywhere and can be more efficient than the most powerful army. So watch your back and show no mercy if you want to keep sat on the Iron Throne.

The potential for this to be an amazing game was in place. A popular book/TV series mixed with an R T S style; yet this game is horrible. I am not a huge computer gamer but I do like R T S games ( Empire and Rome Total war). I am also a huge fan of Game of Thrones also so when i heard this "game" was coming out i was very excited. Yet they put some garbage together and slapped a G o T tag on it so people like me buy it. The game play is horrible, the use of envoys and spy's and all these other non army units is the game. It works well in books but not a GAME which is meant for fun. I mean you have to pay to buy peasants. Every unit cost more than the last of the same class. You can have guards and a spy in the same location but an assassin can still sneak in and kill your envoy. Do not buy this garbage. Stick with a basic R T S game where you build armies and conquer your enemies while still having the use of treaties.

This game could've been so much more.
The political approach is the only aspect I came to enjoy from this game.
Assassins, spies, noble ladies, envoys and rogues.. was something new and really interesting, although it does require some micro-management.
Graphics are mediocre at best, the sound is "ok".
Campaign is pretty dull... and it leaves a lot to be desired.
I think its worth playing and completing the campaign just once.
Most of the missions were a big disappointment specially the ones with the Targaryan house.
Battles are pretty boring, there is no way to field a large army in less than 20 to 30min of gameplay and the time it takes for a unit to move from 1 point to the other is terribly slow.
In short.. personal opinion.. this game is worth 19 bucks, no more than that.
Wait for the price to go down then check it out.

a good game

this game is not for simple minded player that just want to build an army and attack the enemy. you need to have an attention span that will last for more than 20 mins. If you want quick action play aoe or something. Does a good job of using the political elements that are found in the tv series and books. However it does need work and a patch or two. if you like game of thrones a lot you should pick it up.
