For Max Payne, the tragedies that took his loved ones years ago are wounds that refuse to heal. No longer a cop, close to washed up and addicted to pain killers, Max takes a job in São Paulo, Brazil, protecting the family of wealthy real estate mogul Rodrigo Branco, in an effort to finally escape his troubled past. But as events spiral out of his control, Max Payne finds himself alone on the streets of an unfamiliar city, desperately searching for the truth and fighting for a way out.

An Instant Classic

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers
This game goes down on my classic list... not many games get that list. This one gets the honor.
The last time I had played a game this epic was when Freelancer came out.
This game in my honest opinion changes the FPS genre again, as did the first one. Letting Rockstar be the developer was a wise choice.
Graphics are top notch and are breathtaking especially if you have a 1500 -3000 dollar system. You can see every bullet reach every part of the body. Bullet time is epic it is the best in the series.
Sound is excellent, perfect for 2.1 or even 5.1 or greater speakers. Bass is great is this game. You can hear every shot whiz past you.
Story is great as well, written like a film Noir just like the previous ones.
Bottom Line: Get this game! You will not Regret it.
that so called "great game" BF3. Way better. I remember the original Max Payne in 2000 or so and it's sequel in 2002. Both were great games. Lets hope this outsells that lame game BF3 that all the wannabe soldiers are playing.

Game looks awesome but dissapointed in PC delay
Max Payne 1 & 2 are to this day some of my favorite games of all time. They are up there with the Half-Life, Metal Gear Solid, and Final Fantasy series.
Not only do I still have and use the mousepad that came with the first game almost 12 years ago but I have both special editions on my shelf that I'm looking at right now as I write this. This is the ONLY game I will buy special editions of simply because they are worth the money and stand the test of time.
This special edition looks really cool. The statue and the bullet keychain are both something I would put on display in my detolf with my other collectibles. Although I do wish that the statue was a modernized version of the original Max Payne in his original trench coat and tie outfit.
I AM EXTREMELY ANNOYED that they delayed the release of the PC version by two full weeks. It just shows you how things have turned upside down. This was a game that was BUILT for the PC and came out a month before it was on XBOX or PS2 and now PC gaming has been pushed aside.
It's as if they released Half-Life 3 and released it on playstation and 360 first and made PC gamers wait 2 weeks. It's just as bad. Meanwhile the modern PC is capable of 10x the graphics and performance than the consoles are.
By the looks of it the game looks awesome but I seriously hope that they didn't cater to this new gaming generation that just wants run and gun games and has zero respect for how far gaming has come in the past 10 years since they weren't even alive. Since it's been so long they could have lost certain creative minds who were there during the first 2 games and they just might have massacred this franchise. But I hope that's not the case and that they stayed true to the original story driven graphic novel elements as well as good action.
Also now that bullet time is no longer a groundbreaking gimmick I hope that they provide some totally new elements that once again revolutionize shooters. I will definitely be one of the people buying this on release day.
