Imagine if you paid ten bucks for a DLC mainly to get some deep backstory to the main plot, only to be forced to suffer through 2-4 hours of the worst mini-game in the entire series just to get said plot. That is "The Lost Archive." Rather than getting any new action-based gameplay, you spend the entire time playing more of those annoy pseudo-Portal block puzzles, just so you can hear Subject 16 narrate his life story. To make matters worse, the puzzles are not even done cleanly, especially not the "timing" parts which, bluntly, do not time up right. It is sad that Ubisoft's tribute to the character who added so much historical intrigue to the Ezio trilogy is to make players absolutely hate what they have to go through to learn who he was and what really happened to him. DLC would get a "1" but the back story you get is so interesting and moving that Ubisoft gets some credit. But you're better off saving your money and reading it on Wikipedia.

The $10 for this dlc may seem a bit much and gameplay may consist of 1-2 hours (besides the weapon upgrades, armor, single player mission, and multiplayer characters), but it's entirely worth it if you are deep into the lore of the Assassin's Creed Universe. The gameplay is a continuation of Revelation's puzzle-esque platforming from the single player mission's as Desmond Miles while being stuck in the outskirts of the Animus. First up to bat is Subject 16, a character who was brought up quite a few times with no full explanation as to who he really is before the upbringing of Desmond. This is his back story that some of you may have been waiting for and it doesn't disappoint in the least bit. As for the other questionable character, Lucy Stillman, a mainstay and important face to the AC saga, this finally gives us clarification as to who she really is and what her ultimate motives were throughout the series. Is she an Assassin? Or does she play by the rules of Abstergo and the Templars? All is revealed in The Lost Archive.
