This is going to be the greatest game of all times at least for a soul junky like me. As for any new players out there this is the third installment in the soul series the first two being Demon's Soul's and Dark Souls. The two games are independent of each other so you can play either one and not miss a thing, though the first game Demon Souls is a Ps3 only game. The souls series doesn't have the strongest story but more than makes up for with some of the most fun 3rd person gameplay out there. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys real time action with varying weapons, magic, and miracles a kind of separate path of magic. You also get to experience amazing multiplayer either helping other players or invading their world for exciting pvp. One very important thing to note is how challenging the soul games are as and the one thing any hardcore fan will tell you "YOU WILL DIE" but don't be threatened this game is awesome.

I have platinum trophied both Demon's Souls and Dark Souls using no cheats. I went above n beyond in both games acquiring every item you could get and doing everything you could do and I STILL play both games! I am so jazzed to see Dark Souls II on the way!
The Soul games have spoiled me from being able to play other RPG games as they are all so easy to beat/complete compared to this series. If you have anger issues and frustrate easily, then these games are not for you! You need to die to learn how not to die... and die you will. You will die so many times you'll look to the heavens and ask "WHY?"
If you are ready to play what is arguably the hardest RPG game on the market, then I will see you on the battlefield and at the bonfire....

What is it that a good sequel should have? Better graphics, check. Improved gameplay, check. Improved story, check. Improved music, check. Although 75% of what I said mostly remains to be seen, it's nice to not just get another Demon's Souls/Dark Souls engine game with slightly improved graphics as Dark Souls 2 will be running on a new engine built from the ground up! Expect nothing less than innovation and just a HUGE step forward for the amazing Souls series that From Software has blessed us with. For those who are new to the series, all you need to know is that although there's a underlying story - an amazing lore behind Dark Souls and Demon's Souls had a great story as well - the main focus is the gameplay. It's fun, fair and hard - not stupid hard though. It's fair, and keeps you coming back and wanting more. Death isn't a bad thing. You have to die forward. YOU'RE GOING TO DIE, GET USE TO IT. If you go in with that mindset as well as getting a little help from YouTube as well as summoning some people for help, you'll be fine. If you're looking for an intensely fun and addictive dungeon crawler, congrats, you just found the best in the business - coming from someone who doesn't consider himself a hardcore gaming and plays games on the easiest difficulty. If you're wondering where you should begin, of course start at Demon's Souls, then to Dark Souls. That way the transition to Dark Souls 2 will be an easy one as you'll be all trained up.

I've beaten Dark Souls on every platform and then some. Can't wait for this. Just wish Gamestop didn't do the "fake release date" thing. There is no release date for this game yet. Do not be fooled by the 12/31 date. Why can't they just write "tba" or something? Tired of them doing this

This game is going to be epic, glad they are bringing back dedicated servers and getting rid of the p2p system. Better graphics, better gameplay, smooth servers what more can you want?! Getting this on PS3 as where its where this series all began, still playing Demon Souls as well. So on another note this series has great re-play ability as it gets even harder as you beat the game and replay it :D

I cant wait til this game comes out, I heard about Dark Souls from a friend and decided to try it, and i totally fell inlove w/ the game, now im actually just now playin Demon Souls and its just as fun, now cant wait for Dark Souls 2. Dark Souls series actually turned e away from other RpGs because they dont have the difficulty that i truely enjoy, sure i got Frusterated and tired of diein on certain bosses, but when i finally beat that 1 part i been stuck at, i feel like i accomplished somethin, Bottom line i totally recommend anyone to give the series a try, startin w/ Demon souls then Dark souls to anyone who loves Rpgs, but get prepared to die over and over again.

I think you misread that date there buddy.. Now the year of anticipation make me wanna go replay Dark Souls and die another 5,000 times. Shall be an epic game.

i heard that was announced and about died from the excitement, they are expanding the map even bigger, it will be more challenging and its on the current gen consoles, sweet Gwyn this is gonna be great. also a big high five for them keeping it quiet until a month before it comes out thats pretty impressive, cant wait to be chapped at this game!!!

not sure where you got that date, but they haven't confirmed a release date yet for dark souls 2 if so i want a link and im sure others do too.
