This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers
aliens:colonial marines is actually a very good game.it might not be a GOTY, but it is still an action packed,fps experience.this game is pretty much like the movies,including planet LV-426 where you and your fellow marines must stop an xeno alien infestation.everywhere you go,there are aliens;climbing up the walls,crawling through vents,running at you,etc.they are pretty fast,so aim and shoot quickly and acuratley so you don't get killed so fast.overall great aliens game.

Let Me Just Get One Thing Clear From The Start This Is NOT What We Wanted After Waiting Six Long Years With That Said I Will Say That Believe It Or Not I Did Find Myself Enjoying The Game More Than I Thought I Would It's Brainless Fun For A Few Hours If You Can Forget All It's Flaws And I Know There's So Many It Might Be Hard For Some To Do Aliens Colonial Marines Story Is A Joke And For Aliens Fans It's A Complete Let Down It's Not Engaging And For The Most Part It Makes No Sense The Graphics Are Extremly Average And Animations Are Stiff And Funny Looking Though I Must Say The Backrounds And Set Pieces Are Nicely Done As An Aliens Fan Running Around Lv-426 And Finally Getting A Chane To Visit Hadley's Hope Was A Pretty Cool Experience The Sound In The Game Is Top Notch All The Sounds From The Movie Are Spot On From Your Motion Tracker Or Shots Of The Pulse Rifle It's Pretty Much Perfect The Campaign Can Be Played With Up To Four Friends Online And Can Be Mildly Enjoyable But Only With The Difficulty Turned Up To The Max The Reason Being The AI Is Hilariously Dumb Aliens Move Out In The Open And Directly Charge You Head On There's No Suspence With The Encounters Just Aim And Shoot Rinse And Repeat Even In The Short 5 Hours It Took Me To Complete The Story It Was Pretty Repetitive But Again It Can Be Fun To Get Together With Some Freinds And Mindlessly Run Around Blasting Xenos Multiplayer Fairs A Bit Better It's Class Based And Surprizingly A Blast To Play You Control Both The Marines And The Aliens Modes Range From Standard TDM To Survial Modes Where Your Goal Is To Stay Alive Or An Escape Mode Where You Must Reached The Extraction Point Before Being Overun By Aliens Who Are Controlled By Other Players It's Here That I Enjoyed Myself The Most But It Still Can't Save The Overall Feeling Of Being Let Down This Beloved Franchise Deserves Better If You're Curious Give It A Rent But I Can't Recomend A Purchase Even For The Most Hardcore Aliens Fan

If you are a fan of the aliens franchise like me, then this game was pretty decent. The real problem I have is in the multiplayer. You will ocassionally get stuck in a rock or a wall. But overall its pretty average

This game is perfect for: casual gamers
I mean sure its not exactly what you expected, but it was a great game. The graphics could have been better to, but still the story itself was just so hardcore. I loved it man! I mean even multiplayer lacks a little, but still! The game play was awesome to. Not mention it felt like you were in the movie!!!!!!!!!!

This game is perfect for: casual gamers
This game is a great addition to the Aliens franchise and I'm tired of hearing about how bad it is from a bunch of COD players who probably only played the game for an hour or two. What this game has is balance and for a first person shooter thats hard to come by these days. You can use any weapon for the marines and any class of Xeno in the multiplayer and compete with it, unlike games like COD and BF3 where there's always that overpowered no skill weapon. Theres an extensive unlock and customization system that challenges you to step outside the box of your normal playstyle and earn rewards for doing it. The multiplayer has a real feeling of tension and survival on the marines part, and complete satisfaction when your the xeno inducing that fear. And those challenges can be completed in both multiplayer and singleplayer which will keep you coming back to the campaign adding to the lasting appeal.
Singleplayer will make you feel as though your actually in the boots of a colonial marine. Everything from the pulse rifle sound to the details in the environments, which are spot on to the movie by the way, bring the campaign to life and would make James Cameron proud to call it a sequel.
The game will only get better over the next few months with the season pass content coming out between march and the summer, meaning you only have to wait roughly one month between DLC's, unlike many games that get drawn out over a years time. In one of the DLC's there's said to be a "horde" like gamemode which should add a second element to the multiplayer experience.
So do yourself a favor and don't listen to the COD players who continue to buy the same game with a different title each year, and continue to shoot the same overpowered famas-like weapon, and then pay a hundred dollars to get the rest of their maps, and then come on here and give it a 10 out of 10 rating and say its the greatest thing since MW2. Because these players haven't actually played anything else but COD since MW2, and when they try they fail to see outside the box and bash everyother shooter game they can in force just like Medal of Honor Warfighter and try to put them out of business. I like to play alot of different games not just one for the rest of my life and if you take the time to read this then you probably do to. So I definately recommend you try the game and I hope you have as much fun as me playing it.
