This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers
The game play is smooth, but the camera does get in the way at times. Also the blocking system does need to be fixed. Both of those reasons don't get in the way so much where your experience will be ruined. The story starts right after Metal Gear 4, and is very solid. But it is a very short experience clocking in around 6-7 hours. It is a good experience though. But it is very easy to replay missions to get a better score than before. Finally the soundtrack is amazing with hardcore heavy metal that gets you so pumped. This game gets an 8/10. I would have given a 7/10 because of the short story, and a couple mechanics that need to be fixed such as the blocking and camera issues. But overall the game is too good for a 7/10.

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers
Alright first of all, this has to be one of the most fun Metal Gear games I've ever played in my life. To those who may question what happened to the stealth aspect of the series, its still present, just not in the same manner as in the Metal Gear SOLID series. This is Metal Gear RISING, not SOLID, the name being changed to help distinguish the difference. The graphics are some of the best I've ever seen on the Xbox 360 and the gameplay is incredibly fun, albeit slightly challenging. The music suits the fast-paced combat perfectly, perfect transitions into different verses especially during boss fights. The story is great, because its solely Raiden's spotlight this time around and of course they're going to need to develop more of a basis to create a better plot if they create a new entry into the Rising series. The fighting is more hack and slash than it is stealth, but many aspects of the stealth are still present, like being able to sneak up on an enemy and neutralize them in one hit. I've played just about every Metal Gear game and this is definitely one of my favorites.

Fans of Metal Gear Solid who are looking for the stealthy, lengthy, story-driven gameplay that has defined Metal Gear for 25 years, you are going to be sorely dissapointed. That said, everyone else who is looknig for a fun, fast, insane action game, you've come to the right place. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance offers the universe of Metal Gear combined with the action gameplay of games such as Devil May Cry and Bayonetta. There are very few lulls in the action, save for a few codec conversations and cutscenes. Within 10 minutes of playing, I was jumping from rocket to rocket, sword at the ready, as I was charging at a giant Metal Gear Ray. The parrying is hard to master, and will frustrate a few players, but luckily on Easy difficulty there is an option to make parrying a lot easier. There are a few stressfull moments here and there, mostly related to the Ninja Run ability. Graphics are exactly what you would expect from a Metal Gear game: Beautiful. The music can be a bit annoying sometimes, but that's not a major concern. Overall, Metal Gear Rising:Revengeance is a brilliant, face paced action game that any fan of the action genre should play.

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers
Remember that cutscene in Metal Gear Solid 4 where Raiden just decimates multiple troops and Geckos easily. This is that game. Metal Gear Rising make you feel like you have the power that Raiden did in that cutscene, and it exceeds amazingly in that. This game is not supposed to be anything like Metal Gear Solid, it's a spinoff based around the story of a character that has a completely different way of fighting. I hate the people saying that it isn't like "Other" Metal Gear Solid games. IT's NOT SUPPOSED TO BE!!! Its the exact opposite. If they were making a Metal Gear Solid game it would have been called "Metal Gear Solid". I don't see how people don't understand that. Anyways the game exceeds at being an awesome action game while still making you know that it's story is connected to the Metal Gear universe. Platinum games did an awesome job with this game and they never fail to amaze me. Graphics are nice and sharp and the physics are amazing. The only complaints I have about this game is that the lasting appeal isn't the greatest, and that the levels feel a little empty sometime. Other than that it's an overall great game that feels exactly like Kojima's original vision for the game. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

It is called Metal Gear RISING for a reason. This is not Metal Gear Solid. Do not buy this game expecting Metal Gear Solid 5. It is of course different then the original. The fact that you rated this game based off of it's difference from the other series is ridiculous. This is a different game, and a different series. Rate the game please.
